High Performance Training

Client Review ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

“In medical sales, like sports, the mental game is essential. HigherEchelon’s performance-based approach to training had a very positive impact to my sales team’s performance. We overcame so much doubt, rejection, and negativity to build trust, lasting relationships, and improve our overall culture, and finished with our best year ever.”

– General Manager, Stryker

You can get the competitive edge you want

Think of the last time your body or mind sabotaged your performance. Maybe you prepared for your speech but were thrown off by a shaky voice and trembling hands once you stood in front of the crowd. Maybe you “choked” under pressure despite solid skills and can’t understand how it happened. Maybe you perform well, better even than most, but sense you could get to an even higher level if you knew the path to get you there.

It’s no secret we are hardwired to react to stress or perceived threats in fight-flight-or-freeze responses that can prevent high performance and hurt us. What, perhaps, is a secret is that there are trainable mental, emotional, and behavioral skills that the best of the best have mastered to maintain concentration amid chaos, manage anxiety in high stakes environments, and consistently outperform others at a high level despite changing circumstances.

Talent alone is not enough

Isn’t it amazing how much a fraction of a second matters in an Olympic race? How much a millimeter matters in surgery? How much small investments can compound over time?

Across all disciplines, it is often the small things that separate the good from the great, the great from the legendary. Talent is important, but not enough to win at the highest levels. Increasingly, talent alone isn’t even enough to keep pace in today’s complex working environments. Many of the individuals and organizations who excel in rapidly evolving, sometimes adverse, often ambiguous situations credit high performance skills training for helping them bridge the gap between raw talent and next level performance at the individual and enterprise levels.

We train the deliberate development of key high performance skills

Because human performance is regulated through cognitive, emotional, motivational, and decision-based processes, performers must invest in the development of skills such as mindfulness, threat response control, mindset discipline, energy management, attention control, and visualization to build out the mental and emotional foundation that enables elite performance.

The results often mean improved intangibles such as perceptions of individual or organizational credibility, competence, trustworthiness, and confidence. And, of course, results positively affect measurable tangibles, including better performance, customer satisfaction, closed sales, increased revenue, and improved retention – the metrics that show-up on everything from sports scoreboards to sales leaderboards.

Our human capital services bring together psychology and cutting-edge technology to guide teams to consistent performance and competitive advantages

HigherEchelon’s unique approach to training combines principles from Sport and Performance Psychology, Organizational Behavior, and Industrial and Organizational Psychology to create experiential learning opportunities that equip individuals and teams with skills they can immediately leverage to improve performance, increase productivity, manage stress, and maintain wellbeing.

Through consistent development and execution of acquired skill sets, individuals and teams can perform at the upper range of their potential, with results such as increased working memory capacity, better coherence between the sub-systems of the autonomic nervous system (enabling the performer to maintain composure and focus during high pressure situations), improved critical thinking, swifter reactions, and automatic performance that previously required mental energy.

Developing high performing organizations through evidence-based, proven frameworks

Starting in the 1980s, the US Olympic Committee instituted sport psychology practices to train Olympic athletes in the psychological components of performance. For the first time, athletes began to prioritize skills such visualization, goal setting, and self-talk, among others, to account for variables that may influence their ability to achieve greatness.

Today, the skills we train are used to equip elite military special forces, professional athletes, Fortune 500 executives, and individuals in high stakes environments such as national security officers.

“I worked on the Attention Control stuff you sent as I prepped to go into this position over the last two weeks. It really helped me to come in here and make an immediate impact. Thank you again. I keep telling everybody about [the training]. In hindsight, I think it was one of the best things I was able to do in CGSC.”
