Dr. Donnie Horner

Dr. Donnie Horner is a seasoned Executive Coach, leader, and administrator, with experience in the military, academe, government, and the private sector.  A West Point graduate and former Army Football QB, Donnie earned his Ph.D. in Sociology (Organizational Behavior) from Stanford University and an M.S. in Transportation Systems from MIT.

Donnie has extensive experiences leading large, complex, high visibility organizations.  As a career Army officer, he commanded a company in Panama during conflict and Army battalions in Bosnia and stateside.  He worked for President Bill Clinton, several U.S. Army Chiefs of Staff, and served as the Education Commissioner for the City of Jacksonville and Mayor Alvin Brown – the first African American Mayor in the City’s history.  Donnie was the Director of Athletics and Chief Athletics Officer at Jacksonville University (JU), a position in which he was responsible for 501 student-athletes competing in 20 NCAA Division I sports.  Later, Donnie served as Provost and Senior Vice President for University and Academic Affairs at JU, leading its approximately 250-professors, 4,000 students, and its multiple colleges and institutes.
