Reneé is HigherEchelon’s SVP of Finance and Administration. In 2012, Reneé began working with the HE team through their accounting and government contract consulting firm she was affiliated with since 1995. Focused on HigherEchelon’s requirement to maintain DCAA compliance throughout its accounting and financial practices, she developed our first accounting system which was soon after approved by DCAA.
Reneé’s almost 30-year accounting career began at entry level with a regional accounting firm in Huntsville, Alabama and grew to include working as a Managing Consultant focused on Government Contract compliance, as well as an internal Accounting Manager and Controller in the private sector for local Government Contractors. Her training and experience has enabled her to understand the unique contracts and procurement issues, indirect rates, unallowable costs and issues that contractors face with timekeeping, travel, and other challenging areas of DCAA compliance. Throughout her career she has continued to enhance her hands-on experience by attending and participating in courses on FAR cost principles, Contract Management, Government Contract Accounting Systems, and various software systems (becoming a proficient user of Intuit’s Quickbooks and both Deltek’s GCS Premier and Costpoint systems), among many other relevant courses.
In addition, she is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor with more than 20 years’ experience working with QuickBooks software, focusing on system set-up, system restructure, and training staff for compliance accounting. She was for several years a Professional Development Instructor for the University of Alabama in Huntsville, teaching all levels of QuickBooks accounting software classes as well as a specialized class on QuickBooks for Government Contractors. She has also taught similar classes for the Women’s Business Development Center of North Alabama and other local organizations focused on assisting entrepreneurs with their start-up endeavors.
Reneé joined the HigherEchelon team directly in May of 2016.
